Privacy
Privacy Policy
lumnOS is being created to help families make tablet routines and access rules clearer, calmer, and easier for children to understand. Privacy is part of that work from the beginning.
What this policy covers
This policy describes the informational website at lumnos.app. It does not describe an available child account, parent portal, paid service, or public lumnOS Android release. Those services are not currently offered through this website.
Before an early-access program or product begins handling additional information, lumnOS will update the applicable notice before that collection starts.
Information the website handles
Information you choose to provide
The website currently has no sign-up or contact form and does not ask you to submit personal information. If you follow a future contact method or email us after an address is published, we will receive the information you choose to include. Please do not send information about a child through general correspondence.
Limited technical information
The website is delivered by a hosting, network, and security provider (Cloudflare), which automatically processes limited technical information needed to deliver and protect it. That may include an IP address, request time, requested page or file, browser and device information, referring page, network and security signals, and diagnostic information about errors or suspected abuse.
Website measurement
The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they reach, and how quickly pages load. Our hosting provider adds a small measurement script to each page, which runs in your browser and reports the page you requested, the page that referred you, performance timings, and general details derived from your request such as country, browser, operating system, and device type.
This measurement does not use cookies, browser storage, or device fingerprinting, and does not follow you across other websites or build a profile of you over time. We use it only to understand website traffic and performance in aggregate.
lumnOS does not use any of this information for targeted advertising or to build behavioral profiles of children. Apart from this measurement script, the website contains no advertising trackers, no cross-site tracking, no cookies, no browser storage, and no visitor-input forms.
How information may be used
Information may be processed only as reasonably necessary to:
- deliver, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website;
- respond to a message an adult chooses to send;
- prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- understand and correct technical failures using purpose-limited operational data; and
- comply with law or protect the rights and safety of lumnOS and others.
Website information is not used to score children, rank families, maximize a child’s engagement, or decide whether a child deserves care, connection, or access to essential needs.
When information may be disclosed
A production hosting and security provider may process limited request data on behalf of lumnOS. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or valid legal process, when reasonably necessary to protect rights or safety, as part of a business reorganization, or at your direction.
lumnOS does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use children’s personal information for advertising.
Children’s privacy
The public website is written for parents, guardians, and other adults. It is not a child account, child community, or place for children to submit personal information.
Children should not submit names, email addresses, messages, photos, school information, device information, or other personal information through the website. Adults should not send unnecessary personal information about a child through general correspondence.
If lumnOS learns that the website received personal information online directly from a child under 13 without authorization required by law, it will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Future founding-family updates
If an adult email list is enabled later, the form will request only an adult’s email address and an affirmation that the person is at least 18. It will not request a child’s name, email address, date of birth, school, device activity, or other child information. The form will explain its use and retention before it is activated and every marketing email will offer an unsubscribe method.
Retention
lumnOS intends to retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was processed, including legitimate security, legal, and recordkeeping needs. Exact production request-log, correspondence, and future email-list retention periods are not yet set. They must be verified and added here before the relevant collection is enabled.
Cookies and similar technology
The website does not set cookies or use browser storage, and the measurement described above is cookieless. Our hosting provider’s security features may still use a strictly necessary cookie or similar mechanism to deliver or protect the website; that configuration is being verified and this section will be updated to describe exactly what is enabled.
Security
lumnOS will use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information handled. No website, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, law may provide rights to know about, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, or to appeal a decision about a request. A monitored privacy address and a process for verifying requests will be published before launch.
Because lumnOS does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, the website does not currently offer a separate sale or targeted-advertising opt-out.
The future lumnOS product
The planned product is intended to be used by children under family governance. Core child Home, Quest Board, Play Plan, device policy, family routines, and parent planning are designed to work without content monitoring. Monitoring, if ever offered, is a separate capability requiring an explicit parent decision, clear disclosure, a child-visible active state, minimum necessary data, bounded retention, and deletion behavior.
Before any public pilot or release in which the product collects personal information online from children, lumnOS will publish the notices, parental controls, consent process, data inventory, retention rules, and deletion process that actually apply. This website policy does not claim those future systems are already operating.
Changes to this policy
This policy may change as the website and product develop. A revised policy will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. Additional notice will be provided when required.
Contact
A monitored privacy email address, the legal operator’s name, and a mailing address are not configured yet. They will be published here before public deployment. Until then, no privacy-request channel is represented as live.
