Terms of Use
These terms describe the intended rules for using the public lumnOS website while the project remains in early development.
Early-development website
The website provides information about a product that is still in development. It does not currently provide a child account, working parent portal, paid subscription, purchase flow, or publicly available lumnOS Android service.
Concept illustrations, interface compositions, roadmaps, descriptions of intended behavior, and “coming soon” features are not promises that a feature is available or will be released on a particular date. Product behavior, compatibility, features, pricing, and availability may change as lumnOS is tested and improved.
Adults and children
The website is intended for parents, guardians, and other adults who want to learn about lumnOS. A person must be at least 18 to join a founding-family or marketing email list if one is later made available.
The website is not a place for children to create accounts or submit personal information. Do not send unnecessary personal information about a child. Any future child-facing product will have additional terms, privacy notices, and parent or guardian controls before it becomes available.
Information, not professional advice
lumnOS materials provide general product and educational information. They are not medical, psychological, legal, educational, safety, or child-development advice and do not replace the judgment of a parent, guardian, qualified professional, or emergency service.
Children differ in readiness, ability, support needs, language, disability, temperament, culture, and circumstances. Nothing on the website says that a child should be able to perform a task because of age. Parents and guardians remain responsible for choosing appropriate activities, supervision, device settings, and safety precautions.
Do not use the website or a future product as an emergency service. If someone may be in danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional.
Acceptable use
You may use the website only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- interfere with, damage, disable, overload, or disrupt the website or its infrastructure;
- attempt to bypass security, access controls, or rate limits;
- access or probe nonpublic systems or data without written authorization;
- introduce malware or use the website to distribute harmful material;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- submit information about a child when it is not requested or necessary;
- use automated extraction in a way that burdens the service or violates law; or
- use the website to violate another person’s rights or applicable law.
Intellectual property
The website, including its text, visual design, logos, icons, illustrations, software, and other content, is owned by the eventual legal operator of lumnOS or used with permission and is protected by intellectual-property laws. The legal owner of the lumnOS name and Constellation L mark must be identified before these terms take effect.
Once effective, these terms will grant a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to access and use the website for personal, noncommercial purposes. No other license is intended.
Feedback
If you voluntarily send ideas or feedback after a contact channel is published, you permit lumnOS to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to improve the project. This does not transfer ownership of personal information or materials you did not have the right to provide. Do not include confidential information or personal information about a child.
Third-party links
The website may link to third-party websites, research, stores, or services for convenience or source transparency. lumnOS does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, or privacy practices. Their own terms and policies apply.
Changes and availability
The website may change, be suspended, or be discontinued at any time. lumnOS does not promise that it will always be available, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device or browser.
Warranties and liability
Counsel-approved warranty disclaimers, exclusions, and a reasonable liability cap have not been finalized. They must be added here with the legal operator identified before these terms take effect. Nothing in the final terms may exclude a warranty, remedy, or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law and disputes
Governing law, court venue, and an informal dispute-contact process have not been selected. They must be completed before launch. These terms do not introduce mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver; either would require separate legal advice and explicit approval.
Contact
The legal operator, monitored legal-contact address, and mailing address are not configured yet. They will be published here before these terms take effect.
